A few questions about World Info

Main Post:

1 Does word info tokens count towards the max limit that the AI can handle?

2 Can the AI get confused if lore entries and characters are too similar, like twins or a father and son?

3 Is it better to write a large amount of details in lore entries and characters, or is it better to keep it as short as possible?

4 And finally. Any good tips and tricks?

Top Comment: 1- I believe so, but only when entries are actively called. In theory it inserts the entry into the chat history when the keyword appears, so that adds to your total token count in your prompt. Entries that aren't actively being used don't count towards your context limit. 2- Yes, but it depends on how smart a model you're using. 13B models frequently get confused about details in general (like mixing up what physical traits belong to {{user}} and which to {{char}} even if they're very different), but I shouldn't think it should get more confused than usual if they're under separate names. 3- Shorter is better imo unless you need a lot of detail and have the open context for it. Doesn't have to be too short, since these entries get pulled only when needed, but if they're being pulled often or a lot of them at once, it's better if they're short. For characters, you can put a whole character card in their entry, but if you do so, make sure you aren't also feeding the character card to the bot at the same time (i.e. doubling the character entry, takes a LOT of tokens). 4- I'm still learning how to use this stuff myself so I can't really give any good suggestions yet. Just make sure you're using good key words for the entries, and remove that information from any general prompts you're sending (character cards, scenario, etc) so it doesn't get doubled-up unnecessarily.

Toggle world info “R3” for steam deck

Main Post:

Hey all. So the constantly pressing R3 to search around me was getting old real fast! I did some messing around in settings and found out how to make it a toggle! This is on steam deck with or without an external controller.

  1. before launching the game, click on the controller symbol on the right of the screen next to the gear icon.
  2. click edit layout on the external controller and/or steam deck option
  3. highlight joysticks on the left
  4. click gear icon next to right stick click
  5. click settings
  6. turn on the toggle option

Now you can toggle it on and off when walking around!!

Edit** You’ll have to double click R3 to open fast travel if you do this. Just noticed this...

Top Comment: Is there supposed to be no voice acting in cutscenes in "The War Within" part of the campaign (after you finish the main campaign stuff)? I have no dialogue only subtitles in cutscenes since I started that quest.
